San Francisco International Airport Transfers

Buses:

SamTrans Bus lines SFO, 140, 292, 397, 398 and 399 link San Francisco International Airport with Downtown San Francisco, Palo Alto and destinations in SF Bay Area. Buses can be accessed from the Arrivals / Baggage Claim Level at domestic terminals and from courtyards A and G at the International Terminal.

SFO bus line starts from Millbrae Transit Center, where BART and Caltrains are also accessible. Line 140 connects the terminals with the Rental Car Center.

Line 292 buses connect SF Airport with Hillsdale Mall, going via Bayshore Boulevard and Downtown San Mateo.
At night line 397 takes over, using the same stops as line 292, but also stopping at Civic Center BART/MUNI Metro Station, before going south to Millbrae BART and Caltrain Station.

Line 398 runs between San Francisco and Redwood City Caltrain Station, taking in the airport as well. Line 399 is another nights only service, which operates a similar route as lines 120, 140 and ECR, which travel north of the airport, but this line offers an additional stop at Daly City BART Station, San Bruno and South San Francisco.

San Francisco International Airport's people-mover system is free to use between terminals, BART Station and Rental Car Center. AirTrains run 24/7.

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit):

Bus line SFO links the terminals with BART and Caltrain station, where passengers can catch connections to northern San Mateo County, Downtown San Francisco and East Bay, Oakland International Airport and Richmond. BART Station is located on the International Terminal's Departure/Ticketing Level on courtard G. For BART tickets and timetables, please see www.bart.gov. Single adult tickets into Downtown San Francisco cost $9.19. Children and young adults pay $4.55, Disabled and Seniors pay $3.40.

Caltrain Commuter Rail:

SamTrans Bus Route SFO connects all four terminals with Caltrain's Millbrae train station. Buses are timed to meet Caltrain services to and from the south, which run 7 days a week. For more information, please visit www.caltrain.com.

Taxis:

Taxis leave and drop off at designated taxi zones located on the roadway centre islands on the terminals' Arrivals / Baggage Claim Levels.

Single transfers from the airport to Downtown San Francisco cost ca $35.00 for up to three people sharing a sedan.

Free SF Bay FerryConnector Shuttle:

The free SF Bay FerryConnector Bus leaves from San Francisco Airport's International Terminal. The SFO Ferry Connector Bus meets ferries at scheduled times on weekdays at South San Francisco's ferry terminal. The shuttle takes ca 30 minutes. In the morning shuttles leave the airport at 7.45 am, 8.45 am and 9.20 am, in the afternoon, they leave for the airport at 3.52 pm, 4.42 pm and 6.32 pm.

Don't forget - if you plan to travel during your stay, it might be more economical to rent a car at San Francisco Airport.
